Asthma

Chronic breathing difficulty with wheezing

Overview

Asthma is a chronic condition in which the airways narrow and swell, producing extra mucus. This makes breathing difficult and triggers coughing, a whistling sound (wheezing) when you breathe out, and shortness of breath. For some people, asthma is a minor nuisance. For others, it can be a major problem that interferes with daily activities and may lead to a life-threatening asthma attack.

Symptoms

  • Shortness of breath and difficulty breathing
  • Chest tightness or pain
  • Wheezing when exhaling (common in children)
  • Trouble sleeping caused by breathing problems
  • Coughing attacks worsened by cold or flu
  • Exercise-induced breathing difficulty

Causes

  • Airborne allergens (pollen, dust mites, pet dander, mold)
  • Respiratory infections and common cold
  • Physical activity (exercise-induced asthma)
  • Cold air and weather changes
  • Air pollutants and irritants (smoke, fumes)
  • Family history of asthma or allergies

Homeopathic Approach

Homeopathic treatment for asthma aims to reduce the frequency and severity of attacks by strengthening respiratory immunity and reducing airway hypersensitivity. The approach addresses both the acute symptoms and the chronic tendency, working to reduce dependence on rescue inhalers over time. Treatment is complementary and does not require stopping existing medications abruptly.

💬 A Note from Dr. Sharda

Asthma management through homeopathy has been one of my most rewarding areas of practice. Many patients experience a significant reduction in attack frequency within 3–4 months. I always work alongside your existing treatment plan - the goal is gradual improvement, not abrupt changes.
